The chemical composition of the steel sample was measured using a handheld X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, VANTA VCR, serial number SN: 805571.
The spectrometer enables fast and accurate identification of metallic materials based on the analysis of their elemental composition. The measurement was carried out under laboratory conditions at standard ambient temperature.

Before the measurement, the sample was mechanically cleaned of oxides and surface impurities in order to ensure maximum accuracy of the results. The instrument was then calibrated according to the internal procedure, and the analysis was performed in AlloyPlus mode.

The result of the measurement was a chemical analysis that made it possible to identify the material as X153CrMoV12 (1.2379) – a cold-work tool steel. The analysis confirmed the presence of typical alloying elements (Cr, Mo, V) in concentrations corresponding to EN ISO 4957.

The obtained values were processed in the Vanta PC Interface software and attached as a report with a detailed breakdown of the individual elements (C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo, V, Fe). The measurement was evaluated as compliant (Accept).

Handheld spectrometer VANTA VCR (SN: 805571)

The VANTA VCR handheld spectrometer is a modern device for the fast and accurate identification of metallic materials using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis. The instrument is manufactured by Olympus Scientific Solutions, one of the world leaders in the field of non-destructive material testing.

The spectrometer operates on the principle of atom excitation within the material by means of X-ray radiation. Each chemical element then emits characteristic radiation, which is detected by an SDD silicon drift detector. In this way, it is possible to determine the precise mass percentages of alloying elements in metal alloys.

The VANTA VCR model is designed primarily for the analysis of steel, non-ferrous metals, and alloys (e.g. stainless steel, tool steels, brass, bronze, aluminium). It enables immediate identification of the material grade according to international standards (e.g. EN, DIN, ASTM) through the grade match function.

Main advantages of the device:

– high accuracy and repeatability of measurements
– short analysis time (1–3 seconds)
– non-destructive testing without the need to take a sample
– robust construction suitable for production and warehouse environments
– ability to export data to a PC and generate certificates with results

The instrument designated VANTA VCR, SN: 805571, is regularly calibrated in accordance with the internal metrological plan of Dobrosteel s.r.o., which guarantees the reliability and accuracy of the measurement results.
