High-strength, tough alloy steel for extremely stressed components
Steel grade 1.6582 (34CrNiMo6, ČSN 15 346) is one of the highest-performance alloy quenched and tempered steels. It is characterized by exceptionally high strength, toughness, excellent hardenability even in large diameters, and very good resistance to fatigue stress.
It is ideal for the most heavily loaded machine parts, shafts, rotors, transmission components, and parts that must operate reliably under high impact and dynamic loads.
Properties of steel 1.6582 (34CrNiMo6)
🔩 Extremely high strength after quenching and tempering
The tensile strength Rm can reach 1200–1500 MPa, which places this steel among the strongest engineering steels.
⚙️ Excellent hardenability even in large diameters
Thanks to the combination of Cr + Ni + Mo, the steel hardens uniformly and is therefore suitable for large, heavy components.
🔧 Very good machinability in the annealed condition
In delivery condition +A or +N, machining is stable and precise.
🛠️ Extremely high fatigue resistance
Highly suitable for both high-cycle and low-cycle loading – used in the energy sector, automotive industry, and aerospace.
🔥 Possibility of surface hardening
An induction-hardened surface can achieve a hardness of 58–62 HRC.
