⚙️ Properties
- Very high wear resistance due to high hardness and chromium content.
- High dimensional stability during hardening.
- Lower toughness – more brittle than other tool steels.
- Good resistance to compressive loads.

- Knives for sheet metal cutting, punching tools.
- Rollers and tools for cold forming.
- Cutting tools, pressing and stamping tools.
- Molds for plastics with a higher content of abrasive fillers.

Heat treatment
🔥 Heat Treatment
- Soft annealing: 800–850 °C, slow cooling; hardness after annealing max. 230 HB.
- Hardening: 960–1000 °C, cooling in oil or in air.
- Tempering: 150–300 °C depending on the required hardness.
- Hardness after hardening: approx. 60–64 HRC.
